Advisory Alert: API Keys (API + SMTP) and 2FA Required for Essentials customers Wednesday, February 17th, 2021

These maintenances affect outgoing email on the Zenith Media Canada Network of servers, all outgoing email unless configured by the client to do otherwise rely on the smart host gateway of SendGrid.

Scheduled - In order to enhance security for all of our customers, Twilio SendGrid is requiring existing Essentials customers to update their authentication to API Keys for all API and SMTP requests by Wednesday, February 17th, 2021.

Customers impacted by this breaking change will experience authentication errors when making API calls leveraging Basic Authentication. In order to ensure uninterrupted service, customers must update their authentication method to API keys by following the steps here: https://sendgrid.com/docs/for-developers/sending-email/upgrade-your-authentication-method-to-api-keys/.

Twilio has conducted an outreach campaign targeting the registered account email addresses of all customers affected by this breaking change. We are taking the additional step of including this alert here to ensure the best possible alerting to our customers
