The Sun’s Setting on Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Rising on SolarWinds Hybrid Cloud Observability

Orinal source post by Brandon Shopp

Cisco recently announced its plan to End of Life (EOL) Cisco Prime Infrastructure. While they’re offering an alternative solution with this announcement, Cisco DNA Center, support for multi-vendor environments appears to be decreasing.

Whether you’re on the path to adopting cloud for all your technology needs or choosing to remain hybrid, here’s why SolarWinds® Hybrid Cloud Observability can go beyond what Cisco Prime Infrastructure offered and what their new platform is set to offer.

Visibility like nothing you’ve ever experienced

Cisco DNA Center is built to offer similar network management features like Cisco Prime and will likely be adding additional capabilities by piecing together tools acquired over the years. This could mean tools from other vendors outside of Cisco are unlikely to integrate seamlessly with the solution. Piecing together a solution can also create dependencies on several different tools. If a tool is discontinued and the end of life is announced, it can create another gap that needs to be filled to achieve the same results.

While piecing together a solution isn’t the worst option, if it’s not necessary, why do it? Cisco’s solution also begs the question, where is the investment and focus going if a set of acquisitions make up the observability suite?

In contrast, Hybrid Cloud Observability is built as an all-in-one solution supporting both native integrations with other SolarWinds tools and multi-vendor environments out of the box. We designed and built our observability solution with the modern, multi-vendor environment in mind and continue to invest in its development to provide our customers with the comprehensive features they need to gain a single-pane-of-glass view into their environment.

A focused solution to deliver comprehensive results

Our solution is designed to stand on its own as a comprehensive, reliable product to help businesses drive results. We also built artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) capabilities into our solution to support proactive issue discovery, drive quicker issue resolution, and help ensure availability for end users.
